Gardaí have arrested a man in connection with a dangerous driving incident in Dublin whereby a stolen vehicle rammed into a patrol car in the street.
The man, aged in his 30s, was arrested for an incident that occurred in the Monkstown area of Dublin on May 9.
Gardaí at the time noticed a parked vehicle which had been reported stolen. After a member of An Garda Síochána began to approach it, the driver of the car mounted the footpath and crashed into a marked patrol car.

A garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí have arrested a man in connection with a dangerous driving incident which occurred in the Monkstown area of Co .Dublin on 9th May 2023.
"At the time, Gardaí were on proactive patrol near the Oliver Plunkett Road when they observed a parked vehicle that had been reported stolen."
They outlined that a "uniformed member" exited the marked Garda patrol car to "approach the parked vehicle."
The stolen vehicle then proceeded to mount the footpath at speed, colliding with the marked patrol car, narrowly missing pedestrians and the uniformed member, they stated.
"No Garda members or civilians were injured during the incident. The man, aged in his 30s, is currently detained at a Garda Station in East Dublin under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
"Investigations are ongoing," a garda spokesperson added.
