A man has been arrested following an assault in Dumbarton town centre yesterday (Monday).
Police were called to High Street at around 5.10pm following a report of a 32-year-old man being assaulted.
He was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment.
The road was closed between St Mary’s Way and Riverside Lane whilst emergency services dealt with the incident.
Police Scotland confirmed a 26-year-old man has been arrested.
A spokeswoman said: “Police received report of a 32-year-old man having been assaulted on High Street in Dumbarton around 5.10pm on Monday, 18 July, 2022.
“The victim was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment.
“A 26-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are ongoing."
