Police have swooped on an isolated property on NSW's Hawkesbury River after a probe into an online network sharing child abuse material via video conferencing.
Ben Elbourne was arrested on Thursday after officers searched a property in Milsons Passage, a small waterfront community accessible only by boat.
The 51-year-old has since been charged with alleged child sex offences following an investigation by the Sex Crimes Squad.
In March, detectives began investigating the alleged dissemination of child abuse material on live video conferences under Strike Force Packer.
Officers found and seized electronics and other items during a search of the Milsons Passage home, NSW Police said.
Elbourne was arrested at the scene and charged with the possession of child abuse material and using a carriage service to transmit, publish or promote child abuse.
Police allege he took part in a video teleconference distributing child abuse material.
Elbourne was refused bail and appeared in Hornsby Local Court on Thursday.
He is due to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on November 28.
