A man has been arrested and charged following an alleged armed robbery in Dublin city centre and an attempted carjacking in Blackrock on the same day.
On Saturday, gardai were called to the scene of an armed robbery, were a man entered a shop on Dorset Street Upper at around 2.30pm armed with a firearm.
The man threatened staff and fled the scene on foot, with stolen cash.

Later that day, at around 5.25pm, a man with a firearm attempted to hijack a car from a man and a woman in Blackrock. The man escaped the scene by getting in a taxi and headed towards Sallynoggin in south Dublin.
A man, aged in his 40s, was later arrested in O'Rourke Park in Sallynoggin and he is due to appear before Dun Laoghaire District Court on Wednesday morning.
A garda spokesperson said: "Gardai in Mountjoy were alerted to an armed robbery that occurred at a business premises on Dorset Street Upper, Dublin 7 on the afternoon of Sunday 22nd January, 2023 at approximately 2.30pm.
"A male entered the premises, armed with a firearm and threatened staff and left the scene on foot with a sum of cash. No staff were injured during the incident.
"At approximately 5.25pm Gardaí in Blackrock received a report that a man with a firearm attempted to hijack a car in Blackrock from a man and woman. He left the scene and got into a taxi and headed in the direction of Sallynoggin. Gardaí observed the man (early 40s) and he was later arrested in O'Rourke Park, Sallynoggin.
"He was taken to Shankill Garda station where he was detained under Section 30 Offences Against the State Act, 1939.
"He has since been charged in relation to both incidents and is due to appear before Dun Laoghaire District Court tomorrow morning, Wednesday 25th January, 2023 at 10.30a.m.
"Investigations ongoing."
