Two Kinder eggs found by plain clothes police officers in a Wigan park were seen concealing an entirely different surprise to normal. The chocolate eggs are famous for hiding a children's toy inside.
But Greater Manchester Police discovered two eggs being used to store cocaine, after witnessing a suspected drug deal at Mesnes Park yesterday (March 5). Officers arrested the man involved before carrying out a search at his address, where further drugs were seized.
A spokesperson for GMP Wigan West wrote on Facebook today (Monday): "On Sunday, March 5 2023 officers from the transport unit were on plain clothes patrol around the Mesnes Park area of Wigan town centre due to the recent reports of drug dealing. Officers have witnesses a suspected drug transaction take place and have stopped and searched a male which was positive.
"He didn't take too kindly to being stopped and attempted to resist arrest but didn't succeed. Officers recovered two Kinder eggs from the male.
"There wasn't the usual surprise inside them. They contained suspected Class A cocaine.

"Following his arrest his house was searched, a large quantity of cannabis and cocaine was recovered from the address. I suggest in future that the Kinder eggs are used as intended otherwise you might spend a night with us and look at a lengthy prison sentence."
