A man has been arrested after reports a woman was raped in Liverpool city centre.
Police officers were called to a report of a sexual assault during the early hours of Sunday, February 6.
Forensic examinations and investigations of CCTV footage were carried out in the area, but the investigation was passed onto British Transport Police (BTP) due to the incident’s proximity to Lime Street station.

Today, February 17, British Transport Police confirmed a 31-year-old man from Liverpool has been arrested in connection with the incident.
The incident happened at around 2am on February 6 and the man has since been arrested on suspicion of rape.
He currently remains in custody.
Last week, a police cordon was in place covering an area next to the Lord Nelson Street entrance while a number of officers and a police vehicle remained at the scene.
