Two people have been charged after a man was rushed to hospital following an alleged early morning disturbance in Bellshill.
Emergency crews raced to an address on Rockburn Crescent, in the Hattonrigg area of the North Lanarkshire town, around 3.20am on Sunday, June 26.
A 58-year-old man was rushed to Wishaw General Hospital to receive treatment for an alleged serious injury. His condition is not yet known.
Police launched an investigation into the incident and the force have now confirmed that a 34-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman have been charged in relation.
They say enquiries are continuing in a bid to establish the full circumstances surrounding the event.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 3.20am on Sunday, June 26, we received a report of a disturbance in the Rockburn Crescent area, Hattonrigg, Bellshill.
"Emergency services attended and a 58-year-old man who sustained a serious injury was taken to Wishaw General Hospital for treatment.
"A man aged 34 and a woman aged 33, have been arrested and charged in connection with the incident and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances."
