A couple have been arrested in relation to an alleged assault on a then nine-week old baby at her home in Louth two months ago.
The man and woman - both aged in their 30s - were arrested on Tuesday and last night were being questioned by gardai.
The male was detained at Drogheda Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act while the female was detained at Dundalk Garda Station under the same section.

The infant is still being treated at Dublin’s Temple Street Children’s Hospital for injuries described as very serious.
The baby was rushed to hospital on September 13 after gardai and emergency services were contacted.
Gardaí have been working with child protection agency Tusla as part of the investigation.
In a statement in relation to the arrests, gardai added “There are no further updates at this time.”
