Man allegedly pins woman to wall while drink driving

Police have charged a man with offences including drink driving and failing to stop after a woman was crushed between a van and a building in western Sydney.

Emergency services arrived to find the 27-year-old pinned to the wall of a business on Hornsey Road, Homebush West, about 5pm on Monday.

The woman was freed by NSW Fire and Rescue personnel before being taken to Westmead Hospital in a serious condition.

Following inquiries, police arrested a 52-year-old man nearby who returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.133.

Police will allege in court the man fled the scene after hitting the woman and did not attempt to render aid.

He was charged with offences including dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, driving under the influence and failing to stop and assist after impact causing grievous bodily harm.

The man was due to appear before Parramatta local court on Tuesday.
