A man allegedly hijacked a woman's car at gunpoint in Ballyfermot.
The Dublin suburb made national headlines recently when joyriders rammed a garda car while two female gardai were inside it. Shortly after 3pm today, a man is approached a woman while she was getting into her car on Park West Road and threatened her with a "suspected" black handgun.
The woman got out of her silver C-Class Mercedes Benz 161-D and the man drove off towards Cloverhill Road. Gardai are appealing for witnesses to the alleged incident.

A garda spokeswoman said: "Gardaí at Clondalkin are appealing for witnesses following a hijacking incident at Park West Road, Ballyfermot, Dublin 12 this afternoon Thursday 6th October, 2022. At approximately 3.10pm the owner of the vehicle was getting into her car, when a man approached her.
"He threatened the woman with a suspected black handgun and demanded she get out of the car. The woman got out of the car, a silver coloured saloon C-Class Mercedes Benz 161-D and the suspect left the scene in the stolen car. He drove off in the direction of Cloverhill Road.
She added: "Gardaí are appealing for anyone who may have seen this silver coloured saloon C-Class Mercedes Benz 161-D to contact Gardaí, or any witnesses to the incident to come forward.
"Gardaí are particularly appealing to motorists who may have any video footage (including dash cam) who were travelling on Park West Road, Cloverhill Road and the surrounding areas to make contact with investigating Gardai."
