A man has admitted murdering his parents at their southeast Queensland home in 2020.

Christopher Puglia pleaded guilty in the Brisbane Supreme Court on Monday to two counts of murder.

The bodies of Frank and Loris Puglia were found by a relative who was going to the couple's home in Joyner, in Brisbane's north, for a catch-up.

Police alleged at the time that Puglia killed his parents on Saturday, May 16, 2020 before driving his father's white 2020 model RAV4 to Southport on the Gold Coast.

The vehicle remained there overnight before being driven into NSW the following day, police said.

Puglia, then 31, was found by officers in the Sydney suburb of Berowra about four hours after his parents' bodies were discovered.

He remains in custody with the sentence set down for March 12.
