Man admits inserting sex toy into dog and causing 'unnecessary suffering' at Glasgow Sheriff Court

A man has admitted inserting a sex toy into a dog.

Rory Knox, 39, of Helensburgh, caused the animal "unnecessary suffering" on April 18, 2021.

The offence took place at a property in East Dunbartonshire.

Court papers stated that the sex toy ended up lodged inside the dog injuring the animal.

Knox pled guilty today at Glasgow Sheriff Court to the single charge.

Kevin Corr, defending, said: "The dog was the dog of Mr Knox's ex-girlfriend. The relationship is over and he has no access to the dog.

"He does not keep animals and has no access to animals.

"He is ashamed of the offences that he has pled guilty to and knows he may be subject to a disqualification order."

Sheriff Jonathan Guy deferred sentence until next month where more information regarding the circumstances will be heard.

The sheriff will also continue consideration on a disqualification order.

Knox had his bail continued meantime.
