The 61-year-old is also said to have stolen registration plates one at Drumcastle Court and the other at Braeport, both Dunblane, on separate dates in March 2021 - and a plate in the car park of Stirling University between March 1 and April 1, 2021.

Ford is further charged with stealing a plate at a car park in Pendriech Road, Bridge of Allan, on April 7, and a plate at Back o’ Hill Industrial Estate on April 21, both 2021.

He is also said to have driven dangerously at Earls Gate roundabout, Grangemouth, on April 21, 2021, by accelerating away at speed while a police officer was trying to get his details causing the officer to jump away to avoid injury.

The matter was continued without plea last month when it called at Stirling Sheriff Court.

At the court last week it was continued until December 22 for Ford’s personal appearance.
