A man accused of abusing a woman for nearly four months allegedly filmed himself suffocating her pet, a court was told.
Daniel Smith, 34, of Imperial Mews, Ellesmere Port, allegedly harassed his victim between July 24 and November 22, 2021 but today denied a charge before magistrates.
He is accused of videoing himself suffocating the victim's pets, following her outside Merseyside, placing ligatures around her neck and assaulting her on multiple occasions.
It is alleged that on July 25, 2021, he wouldn't let her leave the house and threatened to slit her throat, and on October 26, 2021, he is accused of following her to hospital and dragging her outside.

On November 3, Smith also allegedly assaulted his victim and put a charging wire around her neck, as well as allegedly taking her pictures or private information and sharing it on Facebook.
He was charged with one count of engaging in controlling or coercive behaviour.
Smith pleaded not guilty to the offence at Liverpool Magistrates Court on Friday and the case has been sent to the Crown Court.
