A man remains in hospital fighting for his life almost a week after being attacked in Bootle.
The 55-year-old victim was assaulted on Stanley Road, close to The Strand shopping centre, at around 1.15am on Tuesday, July 12. He was rushed to hospital after suffering critical injuries.
Police have today confirmed the man remains in hospital in a critical condition. Detectives believe that a group of young people carried out the attack.
