A British man has been found dead alongside a woman with serious injuries at a hotel in Italy. The couple, who are from Manchester according to reports in MailOnline, were found at the four-star Hotel Continentale in Florence on Saturday morning.
According to local media reports, a 40-year-old man was found in his hotel room after staff alerted the police. He is reported to have arrived in the Italian city on Friday night with a 43-year-old woman, who is understood to be his partner.
The woman is being treated at the city’s Careggi hospital after being found with serious injuries. Local police and forensic teams were seen at the luxury hotel on Saturday.

The hotel is located a short walk away from the Ponte Vecchio in the historic centre of Florence. Hotel staff were unable to provide any further information regarding the incident.
A Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) spokesperson said: “We are in touch with the Italian police following the death of a British man in Florence.”
