Man, 30, riding Voi scooter in hospital after crash with white Transit van

An e-scooter rider was rushed to hospital with head injuries after a crash with a Ford Transit van.

Emergency services rushed to Northumberland Street at the junction of Robertson Street, in Toxteth, at around 2.45pm following reports of a crash. Once Merseyside Police arrived at the scene they found a man in his 30s on an e-scooter and a white Ford Transit van were involved in the incident.

The man on the Voi scooter suffered head injuries and was taken to hospital by the North West Ambulance Service. His current condition is unknown but police said he was conscious and breathing at the scene, and in transit to hospital.

The male driver of the van was unhurt and stopped at the scene of the crash. The man is assisting police with their investigations.

A cordon is currently covering a small section of Northumberland Street, meaning traffic is not able to pass.
