Man, 30, died suddenly after catching rare disease 'nobody has ever survived'

A man's family was left shocked after he suddenly died of a rare and aggressive disease that 'nobody has ever survived'.

Jason Tolson tragically died at the age of 30 on New Year's Day after being sent to intensive care. Jason died of a condition called Anti-MDA5 Dermatomyositis which is so rare and aggressive that no cure has yet been found and no survivors of the disease are known.

Dean Blakely, Jason's father-in-law, from Batley, has spoken about Jason's final weeks in the hopes of raising awareness of the rare disorder that took his son-in-law's life. Jason began feeling unwell in May 2022, complaining of muscle aches and joint pains, Yorkshire Live reports.
