A young motorcyclist has died following a collision with a car in Newcastle.
Police were called to a crash between a car and a motorcycle on Cragside in High Heaton at around 2.50pm on Sunday, August 7. The Yamaha motorbike was travelling west along the road when, for reasons to be established, it collided with a blue Vauxhall Astra that was travelling in the opposite direction.
The 28-year-old male rider of the motorcycle was taken to hospital, but despite the efforts of medical staff, sadly died from his injuries. His family have been notified and are being offered support by specially-trained family liaison officers.
