Detective Sgt Gerard Farley, of Merseyside Police, said: “Class A drug supply has a huge impact on the community and Bassey-Smith’s imprisonment shows we will target these offenders and bring them to justice.
“County Lines criminality involves the transport of illegal drugs from one area to another, often across police and local authority boundaries, usually by children or vulnerable people who are coerced into it by gangs. The offending targets the most vulnerable in our society.
“We rely on information from the community and I would urge anyone who has information about criminality of this type to contact us.”
If you have concerns about drug dealing in your area you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, call Merseyside Police on 101 or DM @MerpolCC. Always call 999 if a crime is in progress.
