A "big friendly giant" who made everyone laugh died after going out for lunch earlier this year.
Martin Peter Weir, 26, of Broom Way in Halewood, was out for food at the Mersey View public house in Halebank on April 10, 2022 when he began to choke on a piece of meat. He was rushed to Whiston Hospital, but despite best efforts he sadly died a short time later.
An inquest was held into the death of the bricklayer on August 15 through Sefton Coroner's Court. The hearing heard how Mr Weir suffered with a condition which affected his ability to swallow.
