Man, 25, fatally stabbed near Wembley Stadium named as four arrested

A 25-year-old man who was chased and stabbed to death near Wembley Stadium has been named as Hamza Iqbal, from Brent.

Police said they have arrested four people in connection with the fatal knifing around 11pm on Sunday night at Olympic Way, the walkway leading up to the famous stadium.

Three men have been arrested on suspicion of Mr Iqbal’s murder, while a woman has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. All four remain in custody.

Officers previously said they believed the victim had been chased and attacked by a group before the killing.

Police found Mr Iqbal at the scene with stab wounds and commenced CPR, with paramedics also rushing to the 25-year-old’s aid.

He was taken by ambulance to a north London hospital, but was sadly pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

The man has been named as Hamza Iqbal, 25, who was from Brent. His next of kin are aware.

A post mortem examination will be held in due course.
