
A young man has died after being hit by a van as he crossed a road in north London.
The 22-year-old pedestrian suffered serious injuries in Turkey Street, Enfield on Friday morning.
Metropolitan Police officers and London Ambulance Service paramedics were called to the collision at 6.18am.
London’s Air Ambulance also treated him at the scene before he was taken to hospital.
Despite the best efforts of medical staff, the male sadly died in hospital.
His next of kin has been informed and are being supported by specialist officers from the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit.
The driver stopped at the scene and has been assisting police.
At this stage, no arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.
A force spokesman added: “Our thoughts are with those affected by this incident and our investigation remains ongoing.
“We continue to review all footage as part of our enquiries and are now asking the public to come forward with any relevant information that could assist us.”
