Man, 20, stabbed at London train station as police search for car driver seen minutes before attack

A young man is recovering in hospital after being stabbed at a busy train station in south east London .

British Transport Police were called to Station Road, Belvedere, following reports of a knife fight just after 5.20pm on Friday.

Locals report seeing one attacker pull out a zombie knife and a person hit with an iron before two groups fled.

Paramedics attended and the 20-year old treated for non life-threatening injuries.

He remains in a hospital major trauma centre as officers wish to speak to the driver of a silver Ford Puma seen passing Belvedere railway station five minutes earlier.

One witness posted on X, formerly Twitter: “I saw a lot of children.”

Detective Inspector Ian Wright said “We know the station was busy at the time of the incident and many people may have seen what happened or the events leading up to it, so we are urging anyone with information to get in touch and assist us with our enquiries.

“In particular, we’re keen to speak to the driver of a silver Ford Puma who passed the station at approximately 17.15pm, and anyone who may have dashcam footage from the area.”

London Ambulance Service added: “We were called at 5.15pm yesterday (November 14) to reports of a stabbing at Belvedere Rail Station, Station Road.

“We sent an ambulance crew, an incident response officer and a trauma team in a car from London’s Air Ambulance.

“We treated a patient at the scene and took him to a major trauma centre.”

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information is urged to contact BTP, by calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 507 of 14 November, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
