New York City Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani is facing fresh criticism over the rollout of the city’s new pied-à-terre tax after a searchable database listing roughly 960,000 city properties sparked privacy concerns and questions about how the tax will be implemented, Fox News national correspondent Bryan Llenas reported Wednesday.
The pied-à-terre tax targets certain luxury second homes rather than primary residences. City officials have said the measure is intended to apply to second homes valued at more than $5 million and is expected to generate about $500 million to fund public services.
