Rangers star Malik Tillman has admitted that there's still key conversations to be had with parent club Bayern Munich before he commits to life in the Scottish Premiership permanently.
Tillman joined the Ibrox club on-loan from the Bundesliga giants last summer, with an exclusive option to buy included in the deal. The 20-year-old has cemented himself as a mainstay in Michael Beale's Rangers side and has returned 10 goals and four assists from 25 league matches. That's prompted fans to dream that he can stay at the club, with Beale keen to work with him beyond the summer.
Asked about if he sees his long-term future at Ibrox, Tillman told Sky Sports: "I think I have to listen to both my managers; the Rangers one and the Bayern one and see what they say. See where they see me and see what the plans are for the future. Then I can decide."
Tillman has formed a strong connection with January recruit Todd Cantwell and they linked up to produce the first goal during last weekend's victory over Dundee United. And the USA international was full of praise for his teammate. He continued: "He's an amazing player. He has some qualities that not everyone has. He's a good player to do some combinations with so we have a good relationship on and off of the pitch."
Cantwell then returned the compliments as he waxed lyrical about Tillman's recent contribution. He said: "As a Rangers player but also as a Rangers fan, he is the sort of player that you want to keep. He's only going to get better as he gets older which is quite scary actually.
"Listen, we want him here, he's a fantastic footballer and I think he feels pretty aware of how much he's loved here."
