Malik Tillman insists Rangers can wipe the floor with Ajax and avoid a Champions League whitewash.
Under-fire Gers roared back to form at the weekend by battering Aberdeen 4-1 at Ibrox. The victory took some of the heat off boss Gio van Bronckhorst and Tillman is looking for a repeat showing against the Dutch masters on Tuesday night.
Rangers have been thumped in Europe in their previous five group games and conceded 19 goals in clashes with Liverpool, Napoli and Ajax. Van Bronckhorst men’s are a two goal defeat away from being the worst Champions League team EVER. Incredibly, the Light Blues can still bag third spot in the section and qualify for the Europa League if they can pull off an unlikely five goal win – which is rated as a mammoth 350/1 shot by bookies. Tillman ’s focus is on signing off with a win and avoiding the embarrassing tag.
And he’s convinced another devastating display like the one that blew away Aberdeen would do the job. The borrowed Bayern Munich star said: “We always go into the games to win, to show the best we can and show the energy that we did on Saturday.
“We will try to win it and show the fans what we can do. You have to look forward. You can’t change what has happened but you have to keep trying to be positive.” We all wanted to bounce back from our performance this week - and the last few weeks. We know we did not play as we could have done but we had a good game at the weekend and we need to work hard and keep playing as we did.”

Rangers head into the final group game with a nightmare injury list with defender Ben Davies struggling and Ridvan Yilmaz likely to be out until after the World Cup break. Kemar Roofe also suffered an injury setback to join Tom Lawrence, Connor Goldson, Ianis Hagi, Filip Helander and Ryan Jack on the absent list.
Van Bronckhorst is hoping the Dons win has lifted some of the gloom around Ibrox and his men can charge into the clash against his fellow countryman. The Feyenoord legend said: “I was happy with the performance and it is positive preparation that sets us up for Ajax.”
