Heading into the offseason, Michigan State basketball head coach Tom Izzo said he wanted to keep the band together. One day after leading scorer Tyson Walker announced his return to the program for a fifth year, Malik Hall did the same, and Izzo is one step closer to that goal.
This was a bit of a frustrating season for Hall, who will want to come in next year and end his career with the Spartans on a higher note. Hall struggled with injuries throughout the year and never looked quite right, and ended up going 0-for-10 from three in postseason play when the team desperately needed some perimeter help on both ends of the floor.
Hall coming back another year does send a big message though: this team is gunning for a national championship.
