Malcolm Marx's superhuman strength saves 19st team-mate from serious injury

The weekend's Rugby Championship action was nothing short of incredible. Argentina beat the All Blacks, the Wallabies ruled victorious over the Springboks, and there was an abundance of chaos and controversy in both games.

From Nic White becoming enemy of the state to Marika Koroibete's scything tackle, the Australia v South Africa match was hugely entertaining.

However, what some viewers may have missed was a truly remarkable display of strength by Malcolm Marx, as he prevented Pieter-Steph du Toit from a potentially catastrophic injury.

Receiving a high ball from kick-off, Marx lifts up du Toit to catch it. However, the lift goes wrong, with the flanker missing the ball completely.

His momentum takes him over the top of Marx and it looks as if he's about to fall on his head.

Marx holds du Toit up by his shorts, preventing him from falling. Bearing in mind that the flanker weighs almost 19 stone and is a towering six feet sevens inches tall.

For more context, Marx himself is 18 stone and six feet two inches tall.

There are shades of the iconic Tendai 'The Beast' Mtawarira's effort for the Sharks ten years ago.

A clip of Marx' unbelievable strength has done the rounds on social media over Bank Holiday weekend, with around 1 million views in just three days. Viewers were quick to bring reference to 'The Beast'.

"Incredible, just like Tendai" said one.

"Marx is so strong," exclaimed another.
