Majority of UK public want tougher regulation of the media, poll finds

THE majority of people in the UK want tougher independent regulation of the British media, according to new polling.

The Deltapoll survey of more than 2000 UK adults found that 54% of people think the press needs a tougher hand, while 24% said the opposite. The remaining 22% said they did not know.
