Most Scots don’t think Nicola Sturgeon has done enough over the cost-of-living crisis.
A Deltapoll survey comissioned by Scottish Labour found only one in five said she had responded to the challenges well. Half said she had reacted very badly.
The recent Budget announced £150 of support for those struggling with energy bills but the Government is giving the same amount to people living in properties in council tax bands A-D, regardless of how much they earn.
The Poverty Alliance described the banding policy, which resembles the approach of the Tory Government, as “deeply disappointing”.
Chris Birt, of the Joseph Rowntree Foundation also accused the Scottish Government of “largely copying” the Tories and repeating the mistakes of Chancellor Rishi Sunak.
An SNP spokesman said: “Boris Johnson holds most of the powers needed – and Scottish Labour
want those powers to stay at Westminster.”
