Major Saturday morning shows hauled off the air as schedule shake-up confirmed

Two Saturday morning shows have been cut by TV bosses as the schedule shake-up is confirmed.

Due to the Coronation, telly execs have been forced to make some difficult decisions.

With the world's focus falling on the UK, multiple channels will make big changes over the coming days.

Wall-to-wall royal coverage means sacrifices must be made and tomorrow fans of two morning shows have been told the programmes won't be airing.

James Martin's popular ITV Saturday Morning show has been scrapped this weekend.

Oti Mabuse's new lifestyle programme has also been removed from the BBC schedule.

There is no place for Mary Berry: Love to Cook and Football Focus on Saturday, either.

It's not the only changes being made.

BBC Breakfast survives but it will air for one and a half hours, before being taken off the air at 7.30am.

The Coronation of the King and Queen Camilla: The Preparation will then hit screens and will be fronted by Kirsty Young.

ITV's coverage of the big event begins at 8.30am.

Last month, the BBC announced Huw Edwards will provide commentary as the doors of Westminster Abbey open.

Sophie Raworth and Clare Balding will provide commentary for the ceremonial route, and Anita Rani will join the gathered crowds.

Huw said: “Few broadcasters have the privilege of working on a Coronation and I’m delighted to be involved. People will be relying on the BBC for coverage of what promises to be a memorable weekend.”

Tim Davie, Director-General, says: “The BBC is very proud to bring landmark events and major historical moments to audiences across the UK and beyond. We will be delivering the full glory of the Coronation with all the quality, ambition and excellence that our teams are globally renowned for.”

It has been confirmed that Tom Bradby will lead ITV's coverage alongside Julie Etchingham.

Mary Nightingale, Nina Hossain, Charlene White and James Mates will also be on hand in London.

From 6am, Good Morning Britain presenters Susanna Reid, Ranvir Singh and Ben Shephard will be live from Westminster Abbey.

Kate Garraway will be live from Buckingham Palace and Spice Girl Mel B will also be a guest.
