A major south Liverpool road was temporarily closed while two people were cut out of their car after a crash.
Merseyside Police confirmed today it received reports of a crash between two vehicles at the junction of High Street and Prince Alfred Road, Wavertree. Officers arrived at the scene at around 8pm and temporarily closed the road while clean up operations were underway.
Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service also attended the scene to help remove two men from a Volkswagen. An eyewitness reported they "had to be cut out the car" due to their injuries.

A second witness reported one of the men had an oxygen mask on when they drove past the scene. A spokesperson for Merseyside Police confirmed North West Ambulance Service also attended the scene and took two people to hospital with injuries. They added the injuries were "not thought to be serious".
