Emergency services have locked down several streets in Hamilton after a man ‘fell’ from a building.
The alarm was raised at around 3.35pm on Friday October, 21, with police and paramedics racing to the scene on Almada Street.
Members of the public are being urged to avoid the area while the incident, which is understood to have taken place at Almada Tower, remains ongoing.
Beckford Street, Union Street, Douglas Street, Almada Lane and Montrose Crescent have all been closed for the time being.
The man’s condition is not currently known.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers are in attendance at Almada Street in Hamilton after concern for a man who fell from a building in the area around 3.35pm on Friday, 21 October.
“The road is currently closed and emergency services are in attendance.”
A statement from South Lanarkshire Council added: “There are currently several roads closed in the centre of Hamilton.
“Almada St, Beckford St, Union St, Douglas St, Almada Lane and Montrose Crescent are all closed due to a Police incident. Please avoid the area if possible.”
