A new plan has been revealed for the former Tesco Extra at Glasgow Forge.
Longdan Lts is bidding to take over the unit, creating the city's biggest Asian supermarket, a food court and a unique event space.
According to the documents, the site would be a "one-stop destination for Asian goods and services in Glasgow, including groceries, dining, entertainment".
Papers also state it would provide a "harmonious fusion of Asian culture and Scottish products".
Also known as the Home of Asia, the company is the UK's largest Asian retailer with 14 stores across the country.
It sells over 6,000 speciality products, including Vietnamese, Japanese, Korean, Chinese food and more, in-store and online.
The Forge Unit Trust submitted the application to facilitate the retailer's plan.
The supermarket would be a 4800 sq m space, selling chilled and frozen food and ingredients, including in bulk. This is proposed to be open from 8am to 10pm, seven days a week.
The hospitality area would be made up of 20 food stalls and two restaurants, seating up to 200 people. It would operate between 10am and 10pm, seven days a week.
A distribution centre is also outlined in the submission, which would utilise the existing service years and loading bay and house a maximum of 50 vehicles between 7am and 9pm, all week.
The application said the development would provide employment opportunities, improve choices for customers and allow the now-vacant store to be reused.
Glasgow City Council planning officials are reviewing the bid and a decision is expected by Friday, July 19.
This unit was home to Tesco Express Parkhead, which closed in April 2022 after reportedly making a loss.
Later, it was revealed that there was a breakdown in talks with the site’s landlord.
After it was revealed that the shop was under threat, the community came together in an effort to save it.
Union bosses and councillors joined the fight with the aim to save jobs, however, the shop closed permanently at the end of April 2022.
