Major new store opens on Clumber Street in Nottingham

A major high street retailer has opened on one of Nottingham's busiest shopping streets after closing its store on Low Pavement Street where it had been for 13 years. Paperchase has opened its brand new location on Clumber Street.

The store took just weeks to move from its previous location and is now fully kitted out with new signage and displays. Paperchase offers design-led cards, wraps, stationery and gifts along with craft supplies. it was one of the biggest high street retailers to be based in Low Pavement which is undergoing a transformation following several closures on the street including Whistles and Juni Gin Bar during Covid.

There had been fears Paperchase could close following the business collapse into administration in May 2021. The company was taken over and continued trading, saving 1,000 jobs across the brand. It joins several other high-profile brands on the street including Lush, Tag Heuer and Superdrug.

Paperchase posted a photo of the new store on their Facebook page with the caption, "Name two great things that happened in Nottingham this weekend, we'll go first: Nottingham Forest won their first Premier League game! (sorry, West Ham) Our shiny new store opened up in the heart of bustling Clumber Street. Footie fan or not, what better reason to celebrate. If you haven't visited us, come and check out our colourful new collections and dive into a world of stationery goodies.."

Clumber Street was one dubbed 'one of the busiest streets in Europe'. The street reportedly had an annual footfall of 19.8 million a year.
