Someone left the door open to Samsung's wearable department today. After Samsung confirmed the Galaxy Ring 2 is in development, a major leak may have revealed more about Samsung's Galaxy Glasses.
Samsung teased its "Intelligent Eyewear" smart glasses at Google I/O in May, but declined to share much beyond a partnership with Warby Parker and Gentle Monster and a fall release window.
The leak revealed details on how the glasses work, the interface and a controller app. The Galaxy Glasses are built on the Android XR platform, and as we found in a prototype test, come with Gemini AI integration.
The leaked information comes courtesy of SammyGuru, who apparently managed to get a version of the Galaxy Glasses app. It appears to reveal functionality for a Warby Parker edition of the glasses.
The controlling app
The app is a hub for monitoring and controlling the glasses. You can manage settings, install updates and control features. SammyGuru didn't have glasses to actually pair with the app, but what they could see is interesting.
It appear to utilize One UI XR, similar to the Samsung Galaxy XR headset. Paired glasses appear at the top of the main app screen and the battery level.
It looks like it will import photos and videos to your phone once permissions have been granted. There are menu options for the Camera, Accessibility, AI assistants, Find my glasses and Notifications.
Wearable integration
According to SammyGuru, there are signs that the Galaxy Watches and the Galaxy Ring will integrate with the glasses. Samsung may be developing a dedicated Galaxy Glasses controller app that will be pre-installed on Galaxy Watches.
They also discovered some code strings hinting at Galaxy Ring gesture controls:
- com.samsung.android.ring.GESTURE_ACTION
- com.samsung.android.ringplugin.gesture.ACTION_GLASSES_START
- com.samsung.android.ringplugin.gesture.ACTION_GLASSES_STOP
I imagine the start and stop actions are related either to the camera or the glasses themselves. It's not clear what the gesture action is.
I can make some guesses based on similar products. At AWE 2026 we saw a new iteration of the Kiwear smart ring, which acts as a controller for smart glasses.
That ring utilizes intuitive gestures on your finger to navigate menus, open apps, or even control the volume. It also comes with "whisper controls" that allow you to speak to a microphone in the ring to prompt an AI assistant.
Samsung could implement a similar system for its own Galaxy Ring.
