Major changes on road in Nottingham that's a 'nightmare' for parking

Concerned residents living on a road where parking is a 'nightmare' have spoken out about some major changes being made on their road. Nottingham City Council recently confirmed new parking bays are to be installed in Hilcot Drive, Aspley, as parking spots have been increasingly difficult to find in recent times.

Work on the road began on Wednesday, July 20, and will be completed on Friday, September 16, with lane closures in place until the job is finished. With one neighbour explaining that residents currently "park wherever they like" and the installation of parking bays should give people a better chance of finding a parking spot, while also creating more space on the road for vehicles to pass through.

Yet, some local residents have voiced their concern about the new spaces, with the loss of green spaces being a particular source of worry for some. One resident said her two children often play on the grass in front of her home and now wonders where they will be able to go for leisure now that it is being taken away.
