Major boost for parents as key primary school charge set to be dropped from September 2023

Irish parents look set for another key boost in this year’s budget as Government sources confirm an end to the cost of primary school books.

According to the latest reports, schoolbooks will be given free of charge to all primary students from September 2023 under new measures to be confirmed in Tuesday’s Budget.

The €47million initiative was reportedly agreed upon by Government over the weekend, and will not be a once-off measure to curb the current crisis but rather it will continue over the coming years, according to the Irish Times.
