Mayo GAA have confirmed that star defender Oisín Mullin has signed for AFL side Geelong.
The star defender has signed a two-year contract as an International rookie with the reigning Premiership champions and will link up with fellow Irish stars Mark O'Connor and Zach Tuohy in Victoria.
The two-time young player of the year had been set to sign for the Cats last Winter before a last-gasp change of heart. Mullin started in all four Championship matches for Mayo last season as James Horan's side made it to the quarter-finals of the All Ireland Senior Football Championship.

The 22-year old however has now finally made his long awaited move down under, and in a statement released on social media, Mayo GAA paid tribute to Mullin's impact since his debut in 2020.
"Oisín Mullin has accepted a position to play with the Geelong Cats. We at Mayo G.A.A want to wish Oisín the best in his new endeavor and thank you for all the memories.
"Thank you Oisin"
It was less than a year ago that Mullin turned down Geelong at the last minute and decided to stay in Ireland. This time, there has been no such change of heart, and in a club statement, Head of List Management Andrew Mackie welcomed Mullin to Australia.
“As a Club we appreciate the magnitude of moving overseas and understood Oisin’s reasons for remaining in Ireland and not joining us for this season.
“We are thrilled he will now join the Cats for season 2023, he is a gifted talent, however most importantly a quality person who will be a great addition to our playing squad.
“Oisin has had another impressive season with Mayo and we are looking forward to welcoming him and his partner Jess to the Club and to Geelong.”
The news will come as a huge blow to new Mayo boss Kevin McStay who will now have to make do without the 2020 & 2021 young player of the year. The new man in charge may have other departures from the squad to deal with, as rumours continue to swirl regarding Lee Keegan's future.
Mullin becomes the second Mayo star to join Geelong after Rachel Kearns signing for the Cats' AFLW side earlier this year.
