One of Ayrshire busiest roads is at a standstill following a vehicle crash this afternoon.
Huge queues are building up on the A78 near Pennyburn Roundabout following the smash.
Reports suggest the collision occurred eastbound between A738 Stevenston Road and the A737 Eglington Interchange.
Traffic monitoring system Inrix states: "A78 Eastbound partially blocked, queueing traffic due to accident from A738 Stevenston Road (Pennyburn Roundabout, Stevenston) to A737 (Eglington Interchange, Eglinton).
An eye-witness said: "A car was on its roof and police and fire engines are at the scene.
"Traffic was at a standstill. Hopefully everyone is alright."
Police Scotland has been contacted for comment.
