- Air France-KLM says it is extending its suspension of flights to and from Middle East airports as the Iran war rages.
- The airline said flights to and from Dubai and Riyadh will be suspended until March 12, and flights to and from Tel Aviv and Beirut will be suspended until March 13.
- Global air travel has been severely disrupted since the start of the U.S. and Israel’s attacks on Iran. The forced closure of key Middle Eastern hubs including Dubai, Doha and Abu Dhabi has left tens of thousands of passengers stranded worldwide and disrupted thousands of flights.
- The war has also sent oil prices skyrocketing and stocks tumbling, and there’s no end in sight after Iran elected Mojtaba Khamenei as its new leader a week after his father was killed in an airstrike.
- President Donald Trump previously said Mojtaba Khamenei was an “unacceptable” choice and demanded to be involved in the selection of Iran’s next supreme leader.
