Williams portrayed the character Ashildr, a young Viking girl, during the show's ninth season alongside Peter Capaldi's Twelfth Doctor.
Ashildr's storyline took an interesting turn when she became immortal with the Doctor's assistance. She joined the Doctor and his companions temporarily before departing alongside another immortal character, Clara Oswald, played by Jenna Coleman. While Ashildr's journey seemed to conclude during the ninth season, her immortality leaves the door open for a potential comeback in future seasons.
