Maisie Smith shows off drastic new look as she goes makeup-free during family day out

Maisie Smith looks very different in new pictures from a family day out with her rarely-seen mum and sister.

The 21-year-old former EastEnders and Strictly Come Dancing star appeared to rock bleached blonde eyebrows in the snaps.

She was joined by mum Julia and sister Scarlett as they went to see Whitney Queen of the Night at Cliffs Pavilion theatre in Southend, where she grew up.

Maisie looked to have gone makeup-free as she posed with her family outside the Ocean Beach cafe, bar and bistro earlier on in the day.

In a far cry from her usual glam self, Maisie was dressed casually in a long denim skirt and red Adidas T-shirt.

But boyfriend Max George didn’t appear to get an invite as he was nowhere to be seen in the photos.

Just a few days ago the loved-up couple, who began dating last September, sparked engagement rumours after Max joked he had ‘popped the question’.

But instead of a proposal, the couple – who are known for winding up fans on social media – shared a snap of Max putting a huge onion ring on Maisie’s finger.

And the couple sparked controversy following their ‘pregnancy announcement’ on April Fools Day.

Maisie left her one million followers gasping as she took to her Instagram stories to share a deceiving photo cradling her 'bump'.

Max was seen looking down at her tummy – which was covered with a love heart emoji – as he held his hand to his mouth in disbelief.

Captioning the cryptic photo, Maisie wrote: "We've got some really exciting news."

However, as excited fans scrolled to Maisie's next story, they soon realised it was all a hoax.

Removing the emoji from the second snap, Maisie declared: "I just had the best 5 course meal of my life."

Instead of being pregnant with an actual baby, she joked that she was expecting a 'food baby'.

But some fans hit back saying the couple shouldn’t joke about pregnancies as it was a sensitive subject for some of Maisie’s followers.

Although Maisie and Max have faced criticism since they got together last year, their relationship has gone from strength to strength.

The pair moved in together in February after Max romantically planted a set of house keys in a bag of pick n mix for Maisie to find.

And hitting back at haters, Maisie says she feels they have now proved their love "isn’t just for the cameras".

Last month, she exclusively told The Mirror: "When you’re in a new relationship, people have a lot to say. But we’ve been together a while now and we’ve proven our love isn’t just for the cameras.

"We’re genuinely two best friends, in love and we’re so happy.

"We still get negative comments. Family and friends are so supportive and have never seen either of us so happy. I’ve never been in such a happy position. I’ve got the boyfriend of my dreams... so I’m living on cloud nine."
