Maisie Smith fell in love with Max George after 'terrifying' Loose Women interview

Loose Women viewers were thrilled during Thursday's instalment of the ITV programme as Max George and Maisie Smith delivered their first interview since unveiling their romance.

The Wanted singer Max, 34, fell head over heels for former EastEnders star Maisie, 21, when the pair grew close during the Strictly Come Dancing tour.

Despite the fact Max and Maisie have only been dating for a couple of months, with the pair revealing their relationship back in June, they are planning on buying their first property together next year after they spend their first Christmas together later this month.

And during their sweet appearance on Loose Women, Maisie revealed how she first fell for Max this summer - just weeks after the pair appeared on Loose Women back in June, as friends.

The EastEnders actress revealed that before live TV interviews, she gets incredibly anxious, and back in June, Max was there to calm her down before they made their way out to join the Loose panel.

Shortly after the TV interview, Maisie realised that Max was more than a friend, and began to see him in a more romantic light.

"I get so nervous before these kind of things - I'm always scared that I'm going to go blank or not know what to say. And that day before we came out here, I was pacing back and forth behind the scenes but Max just calmed me down and kept me chilled out," Maisie explained.

"After that, I kind of started to see him differently."

During the candid Loose Women chat, I'm Glad You Came hit-maker Max also revealed that the 13-year age gap between him and his girlfriend Maisie doesn't bother him.

Sharing snaps of themselves on several sun-kissed holidays, the pair haven't been shy in sharing the affections and have now opened up about their surprise romance.

When asked if their age difference bothers them, Maisie said: "People ask me: 'Do you notice it?' and I never have. We're so like-minded. I've got friends in their 30s and 40s. You connect with who you connect with.

Speaking to HELLO! magazine earlier this month, Max also said: "It never enters my mind. Maisie has already done so many things that I'm in awe of – I look up to her."

The actress, who stuns in the new pics sporting a bright orange suit, is currently starring as Fran in Strictly Ballroom: The Musical.

Gushing about how supportive Max is, she said: "When I get off a train, Max will be standing on the platform with a bouquet of flowers and I feel like I'm in a movie. It's every girl's dream and I've found it in Max."

Maisie also said dating The Wanted star was the 'best decision' she's made.

The actress also set tongues wagging on the couple's latest holiday when she appeared to be rocking an engagement ring.

Fans were convinced Max had popped the question as Maisie hugged her beau aboard an open-top bus – sporting a sparkler on her ring finger.

However, it appears the couple are content with their relationship status for now – after all, they've only been officially dating for three months.

The former EastEnders actress first met Max in 2020 while competing in the same series of the BBC show.
