Former EastEnders actress Maisie Smith and her boyfriend Max George delighted fans on Sunday's The Chase Celebrity Special as they staged the 'adorable' moment the 21-year-old would have said 'I do' as she became excited at the idea.
The Tiffany Butcher star and The Wanted boy band member made history on the ITV quiz show at the weekend, being the first celeb lovebirds to appear on the show together, not that host Bradley Walsh even noticed.
Max, 34, was quizzed about how he knew Maisie, as the completely unaware television host was blindsided that the pair were actually an item as the singer had people on the edge of their seats mysteriously reaching into his pocket looking for 'a ring'.
"So erm, when's the big day?," host Bradley asked awkwardly as he profusely apologised over his blunder.
Playing along, singer Max turned to Maisie and said: "Funny you mention it, er...," as he pretended to reach into his pocket and pull out the 'little box' for his girlfriend.
As the audience erupted with laughter and surprise, Maisie excitedly rose from her chair as she beamed over the gesture.
Seeing the pair's wholesome display on the ITV show, viewers took to Twitter to share their thoughts across social media.
One person wrote: "Maisie Smith and Max George currently being very cute on #thechase. Love them!"
Another penned: "Max & Maisie are making this episode."
"Max and Maisie's banter added to Brad's jokes is peak TV," added a third fan of the ITV quiz show.
While a fourth added: "Bradley Walsh not knowing that Max and Maisie are dating even after the way Maisie reacted to everything Max said is the most Bradley Walsh thing ever."
The couple first met when they both appeared in BBC's Strictly Come Dancing back in 2020 before going official with their blossoming romance in summer last year and they have become inseparable ever since.
The pair have enjoyed a string of lavish holidays, as well as marking a very important milestone in their relationship, having moved in together earlier this year.
The Wanted singer revealed to fans that he asked the actress to move into his home and took to TikTok to share the special moment with fans.
Speaking to OK! about their living arrangements, Max said previously: "We live together now, but we're constantly travelling around the country, with Maisie touring.
"We want to get a place together and have a base in London – and maybe somewhere in Manchester too.
Maisie added: "With my job I've had for the last 20-ish years, I haven't travelled very much, so it will be lovely to get to travel the world with my bestie."
The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on STV.
