Mairead Ronan has broken her silence since RTE's announcement of Ireland's Fittest Family's new presenter.
The mum-of-three sent her best wishes to Galway native, Laura Fox, who will join the show as the new host for the programme after Mairead quit back in February.
Mairead took to Instagram to say she looks forward to watching the show, which will have Olympic medallist Sonia O’ Sullivan as one of the coaches.
She wrote: "The days are long but the years are short.
"That phrase pretty much sums up my time on Ireland's Fittest Family for me.
"What started out as a little show on the telly became a pillar in the RTE schedule and I've loved being there from the very start until year 10 (yes 10 years!)"
Mairead continued: "But before my youngest starts big school in September and my eldest goes into senior years in secondary school, I want to have one uninterrupted summer with them.
"Because the days are long but the years are short."
The presenter added: "Looking forward to watching later on this year, not knowing who wins."
She went on to thank her former colleagues in her heartfelt social media post, and added a special good luck nod to Laura.
"The very best of luck to new host, Laura Fox - you will love it."
