Manchester City take on Peterborough United tonight hoping to avoid an FA Cup embarrassment against the Championship strugglers.
Peterborough have found life in the second-tier difficult to adapt to following their promotion from League One last season and are rooted to the bottom of the league standings. The Posh are under the guidance of Grant McCann for the second time in four years after he was announced as a replacement to the resigned Darren Ferguson a week ago.
There has been no immediate 'new manager bounce' feeling for the Championship side, however, with McCann suffering a 3-0 home defeat to Hull City in his first game back in the London Road dug-out. And Manchester City fans are pulling no punches as they call for Pep Guardiola to name a strong side to face their opponents tonight (Tuesday).
Ederson has played in all but one Premier League game this season and is yet to feature in the FA Cup so far, but City fans would like to see Guardiola call upon their most-reliable shot-stopper for the game against Peterborough.
Defenders - Kyle Walker, Nathan Ake, John Stones, Oleksandr Zinchenko
City fans would like to see wholesale changes to the defensive four to take on Peterborough. In a number of changes to the side that won last time out, City supporters have voted to see Joao Cancelo, Aymeric Laporte and Ruben Dias all rested.
Guardiola confirmed at the weekend that Alex Zinchenko will feature for City following a difficult week. The Ukrainian, who fans would like to see start at left-back, was in tears ahead of Saturday's victory at Everton, along with compatriot Vitali Mykolenko, as both clubs made a touching display of support amid Russia's invasion of their country.
Walker was an unused substitute on Saturday, alongside Ake, and the pair could feature together in a starting 11 for the first time since the 4-0 win at Norwich City if Guardiola follows the advice of City supporters.
Midfielders - Ilkay Gundogan, James McAtee, Fernandinho
The one player City fans would like to see retain his midfield spot from the win over Everton is Gundogan. The 31-year-old German has been a steadfast option for the Premier League leaders so far this season and seems a likely option to continue his run in the team.
A trip to a lower-ranked opposition gives Guardiola the opportunity to rotate his experienced midfielders and give some minutes to the younger players. Several supporters, therefore, are hoping to see youngster McAtee given a run-out, but the 19-year-old played all 90 minutes for the Under-23s in a 0-0 draw against Leicester City U23s on Monday so is unlikely to feature.
Fernandinho was an unused substitute against both Everton and Tottenham Hotspur in recent weeks and fans would like to see him given some minutes against the Posh.
Forwards - Riyad Mahrez, Gabriel Jesus, Jack Grealish
City fans would like to see an attacking trio that would scare plenty of Premier League defences — let alone one strrugling in the Championship.
Grealish has found opportunities hard to come by, having struggled with setbacks since his £100m move to City from Aston Villa.
But he could be motivated into a good performance in the cup, knowing it could set him on his way towards a spot in Guardiola's side to play Manchester United at the weekend.
Mahrez possibly would have felt hard done by to have been left out of the starting 11 against Everton given his cameo appearance against Spurs, but City supporters are keen to see the Algerian and Gabriel Jesus get a go tonight.
