Maharashtra signs MoU worth Rs 1.14 lakh crore with AM Intelligence Labs; can create 8,000 jobs

The Maharashtra government on Thursday signed an MoU with AM Intelligence Labs Private Limited for a proposed investment of Rs 1.14 lakh crore to set up an Integrated Green Data Centre Park and an AI Compute Hub in the Mumbai region, officials said.

The project, to be developed entirely on renewable energy, is expected to generate around 8,000 direct and several indirect jobs in high-technology sectors, including opportunities for software engineers, data scientists and operations personnel, an official release said.

The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

The statement said the project, which will come up in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, will have a total capacity of 500 megawatts and will deploy 2.5 lakh high-performance AI chipsets.

It will be implemented in two phases, with the first phase of 200 MW scheduled for completion by 2028 and the second phase of 300 MW targeted for completion by 2030.

The government said that nearly 2,000 additional employment opportunities will be generated during the construction period.

The project will be developed under Maharashtra's Information Technology Policy, 2023, and the Green Integrated Data Centre Park Policy, 2024.

Officials said the initiative aims to position Maharashtra as a national and global leader in artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure.
