Maharashtra: Shiv Sena (UBT) objects to posters calling CM Eknath Shinde 'Hinduhridaysamrat'

MUMBAI: Shiv Sena (UBT) has objected to chief minister Eknath Shinde being referred as Hinduhridaysamrat in a poster put up by a BJP candidate in Rajasthan to welcome him for the poll campaign. The title which means “King of Hindu hearts” was used to describe Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray.

“That party has stolen everything. Now he is even trying to steal this title. How many masks will Shinde wear? Nothing Shinde does will wipe out the fact that he is a traitor,” said Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray.

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut said, “What has Shinde done to deserve this title? He is not wanted in Maharashtra and that is why he is campaigning in other states. We may even see him in the US, campaigning for their President Joe Biden.”

Bharat Gogawale, spokesperson of the Shiv Sena defended Shinde. “Party workers must have put the title. Shinde has never asked any of us to refer to him like this or to praise him,” he said.

Cultural affairs minister Sudhir Mungantiwar who belongs to the BJP said the same. “One should understand that somebody else puts up such banners. Will Shinde himself put up his own banner? It is natural for workers to have feelings for Shinde since he is following Bal Thackeray’s ideology.
